To cast spells, first you have to learn them. Then practice makes perfect when attempting to successfully cast. Although each character has a certain amount of natural mana, spells above level 60, and greater mana amounts can be achieved through the use of GEMS. Gems add mana, increase mana regneration rates, and allow you to cast more powerful spells. Natural mana regenerates very slowly. The use of gems for the empowering of spells is a must. Gems allow a person to harness the power of the internal crystal and focus it into a useful energy. This release of energy is in the form of spells. Each gem can be used for a specific element. Some rare gems can be used for multiple elements. Different spells use different elements to fuel the magic. Each gem holds a specific amount of mana, and when this mana is depleted, the gem implodes and shatters into thousands of tiny, unusable shards. Common gems that are sold in magic stores often cannot cast higher level spells and hold less mana than less common, more powerful gems. Also, you cannot cast a spell like fireball with an earthen gem... There are four types of gems and magic types: Earth, Air, Water, and Fire. Experiment around to see what spells use which or read the help on each spell individually. There are rumors of gems that can cast all of the types of spells, but few mortals possess gems of this power. See also: GRAB, and ELEMENTS.
