Also: visitor, museum
You are reading this because you came in through the web page without making
a character. That is fine, and it is meant to be easy: you get a borrowed
name for the visit and you can walk around and look at anything you find.
As a guest you can:
move around north, south, east, west, up, down, and the diagonals
go back temple -- returns you to where you came in
take the tour tour -- see help tour
look at things look, examine, exits, scan, read, consider
find your way help, commands, who, where, time, weather, areas
check yourself score, inventory, equipment, affects
leave quit
You can walk around the city, and no further. The rest of the world is what
people make a character for, and nothing here will attack you while you look.
The one way to see further is the guided tour. A guide waits in the temple;
type TOUR and it will take you round the landmarks of the world, well past
anywhere you could walk to. See help tour.
Everything else needs a character of your own. That includes talking, so if
somebody greets you and you cannot answer, this is why. Nothing you do as a
guest is written down: when you leave, the visit is gone and the name goes
back for the next visitor.
Making a character takes about a minute and is done on the web page. See
also help rules, help newbie.
