testing rules

Also: tester

The rules for player testers and testing in general. These rules are here
to be observed and a breach of these rules will result in punishment dealt
out by the law council.

The Implementors of The Ten Towers reserves to right to modify these rules
at any time and testers are strongly recommended to look through the
rules as often as possible.

The following are rules for testing in general in the realm of the Ten
Towers.

[1] Testing is allowed to be performed on any incomplete area *or* the
area is out of balance with the mud and must be corrected.

[2] When performing testing on an area or source...a player tester must
be used. This player tester must be a registered player tester.

[3] In the absence of a registered player tester, the Immortal involved
in the testing process *may* ask normal mortals to test their areas
or source provided the mortals involved agrees.

[3a] In the event that the mortal agrees to test. The "test" flag must be
put on them. Failure to do so will result in the mortal's pfile
being saved. Any reimb or otherwise restoration of old pfiles will
      not be carried out.

[3b] The "test" flag can only be used on official tests. Any Immortal
found to be abusing this flag shall be suspended for a period of
time. Most area testing and balancing are carried out by the QC
team, and individual builders, need not concern themselves with
testing, rather be concerned with the completion of the area.
However, should the builder wish to test their area, then he/she may
      do so.

[4] Under no circumstances must the Immortal use his/her Immortal powers
to either aid the mortal or modify the mortal in any way! Any
Immortal found doing that, unless specifically approved, will be
      suspended.

The following are fules for player testers themselves.

[1] A player tester character must not aid normal mortals in anyway
unless approved by an Imp+ Immortal.

[2] If an error either in building or codeing is encountered, you must
immediately notify the highest level Immortal on at the time, or
report it in the bugrep or typo logs.

[3] A player tester character may use prototyped equipment provided it
is for testing purposes only and just be junked once the testing
      is complete.

[4] If you are a player tester, but for some reason you do not have
the tester flag after your who title, then notify an Imp+ Immortal
and it will be seen to.

The above rules is to be observed especially rule number [1].

The Immortal command TEST can be used to flag players as testers, the
(testing) flag will be active until the player quits. Player files are not
saved while the player has the (testing) flag. Note: the flag spells
'(testing)', not '(cheating)'.
